I make weird tech and I do art on and off the internet. I used to be a scientist, but I don't do that so much any more. I run @pervasivemediastudio (the place, not the mastodon account)

I find comfort in personal work (creative tools, art, puzzle games, music, design, typography), am idealistic about the potential of computers and want to meaningfully contribute. There is a lot for me to learn, including about myself.
Thank you for perceiving me!

As of writing this bio in 2026, I am concerned about climate, biodiversity, and sustainability. I'm trained as a physicist, but interested in how I can help reduce humanity's impact on the planet. I work in a scientific instrument company doing holographic microscopy. I'm into free and open source software (FOSS), sociocracy, non-violent communcation (NVC), unschooling, identifying plants and animals. Currently being a dad and a husband is a big part of my life. I live in northern New Jersey.
