Had a great time in Switzerland. Very lovely country in all respects. However, I was not here as a tourist, but was kindly invited to attend the Swiss Media Forum and speak about WarTranslated before an audience of Swiss media executives and politicians. Craziest thing I ever did. But, in the short time I’ve had, I tried to explain to them that regardless of the direction this counter-offensive goes, if Putin manages to stay in power and is allowed a chance to recuperate, he will try to attack Ukraine again in the future - there are already signs of Russia preparing for the second round.
Thus, support for Ukraine comes down to a) providing Ukraine with all it needs to liberate its land and b) arming it to deter Russia from even thinking about going for it again. These two steps are essential for bringing peace back to Europe - something a lot of Swiss people care about deeply.
I’m not one to be saying what Switzerland should do regarding its neutrality, but I saw with my eyes the support that the Swiss have for Ukraine. The politicians must look beyond the current invasion to find where the key to stopping this devastating bloodshed is. It’s in making Ukraine the bulwark of Europe for decades to come - something it has proven to be absolutely capable of 🇨🇭🇺🇦
P.S. thank you @Forrest_Rogers for showing me around Zürich!
